Logging food by voice

Say what you ate — AI understands and logs it to your diary.

How to use it

  • Tap "Add food" and choose voice ("Say what you ate").
  • The first time, the app prepares voice recognition (you will see "Preparing voice recognition...") — this happens only once.
  • Say what you ate, for example: "Two scrambled eggs with two slices of rye bread and a cup of coffee with milk".
  • AI recognises the items and amounts and calculates calories.
  • Review, adjust if needed, and save.

Tips

  • Speak naturally — you can list several items at once.
  • Mention amounts ("two tablespoons", "200 grams", "one slice") for a more accurate result.
  • If you do not mention an amount, AI picks a typical portion size that you can adjust.

Common issues

  • Microphone permission needed — the app asks the first time; if you declined, enable it in phone settings: Settings → Avitra → Microphone.
  • "Failed to load the voice model" — check your internet connection and try again; the model is downloaded again.
  • Daily AI limit reached — voice input uses AI and counts towards the same daily limit as photos. See "AI usage limits".
